Quick Zappi install. 🟢🚗🔌
Board location made for a simple route for the supply cable. Conduit run inside the cupboard and comes back entry into the charger.
CT used for load limiting to ensure that the EV charger will not overload the installation.
These Socomec CTs are nice and tidy.
Simple and compact solution of metering multiple TP outgoings circuits.
Commission the system is a breeze with the Easy Config System Software.
10/10 would use again.

Massive congrats to the blokes on site doing this mother of a joint especially in 35+ degree heat! 🫠
4x240 AWA Singles jointed onto a 4 core 150.
Schneider AFDD's 🤑
Bought some AFDD's from Schneider to build a sample disboard to show the client.
By using a 9mm pitch L-N comb busbar with the tails connectors you can build custom AFDD rails for outgoing circuits.
Need an extension box to house the main switch and ancillary equipment but think it should all work together.
Will update when we get a full board up and wired! 💪
NEW TOOL ALERT! CK cables stripper's are 👌
Have a lot of 2nd fixing to do at one of the jobs I'm on so hoping these are going to speed up it up.
So far so good! 😎
Sunday stripping sesh. 🤑
Not pictured, the massive pile of rubbish! 😆
Did a strip out a few weeks ago and was left with a load of 70, 50 and 35mm cable. Finally got round to stripping it all.
Straight into the beer money fund. 😂
Electric vehicle charger!
Installed this ABB electric vehicle charger the other week. Bit of a beast, 325kg! Needed to forklift it into position.
It's a nice unit but the cable entry design is awful. Instead of a gland plate there is a crap quality cable clamp that doesn't even work properly! On top of that the distance from clamp to terminations was tiny! This forced me to have to put a helix into each of the cores, not ideal!
Done and dusted now, ready for commissioning.
Exothermic welding! 🔥
Spent my Sunday outside in the blistering heat driving earth rods and welding earthing conductors together in a new HV substation.
Hadn't done that sort of welding before and there is a step by step process to do so you can get it right every time. Got the hang of it pretty quickly. After that we were blazing along. 😉😎
IPAF certified now! 😎
At least for mobile platforms, 3a and 3b.
Thank you @nationwide_platforms
Been needing a licence since most of the work we're doing at the moment is high level. Been having some fun driving the cherry picker and scissor lifts around. Trying not to run over any toes. 😆
Knipex Plier wrenches! 👀🤯
Will be starting a job soon with hundreds of glands to make off, everything thing from 1.5 multicores up to 630 singles and 400 4 cores.
The client has spec'd that traditional grips cannot be used as it will scuff the glands. So only flat jaw wrenches can be used hence why ive bought these bad boys. 🤙
New Tool Tuesday!
Knipex CoBalt Bolt Cutters.
Couldn't resist.
Been needing a pair of bolt cutters as I've just been ruining snips or using a junior hacksaw, neither of which are good options. 😅
These are built to the usual knipex quality and having been using them today I can say it's already been worth the purchase. 😎
